Volume 1, Number 3

Happy Holidays to each of you from the entire staff at Iron Horse Stables. It only takes but a moment to look around and realize that we do have a lot to be thankful for. Janie and I feel especially blessed. We have a wonderful, supportive family, a fantastic place to live here in the Ozarks, and this year a business that allows us to work together and to enjoy our favorite pastime, riding our motorcycle. Of course, extra special has been the opportunity to make many wonderful friends. Motorcycle folks are the best!

We seriously want to thank those of you who took a chance and stayed with us at Iron Horse Stables. We hope you had a good time and will allow us to serve as your hosts again in 2001. To those of you who have been unable to visit we do hope to see you soon.

It's hard to believe that Christmas (the most special time of year) is upon us. It is true that the older you get the fater time flies and for me it's starting to be at supersonic speeds. As some of you know I will be going into the Arkansas Legislature in January. Based upon some preliminary conversations I get a strong feeling that we are going to face a new helemt law bill. I will do my best to protect our rights but I anticipate some tough competition. I would urge each of you to stay up on what is happening in your state and espeically those of you in Arkansas. Make sure you voice is heard by speaking to your Representative and Senator.

Again we want to thank you and wish each of you a Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and a great riding season in 2001.

...and around the bend

During this past year some of our favorite times have been with groups who have chosen Iron Horse Stables as their vacation hub and have done day rides throughout much of the Ozarks.

Advantages have been that they have not had to contend with the weekend crowds and have had more time to ride and then come back to Iron Horse, kick back and relax with their riding friends.

The benefit to us is that we have moer time to get to know folks, and especially, get away and go for a ride or two with them. We try to not let everyone sneak away without us too often.

A sepcial offer that is available in 2001 will be that anyone who stays with us for 4 consecutive days, starting on a Sunday, will get the fifth day FREE , compliments of the Iron Horse Stables staff.

For thos who begin their visit on a Sunday or Monday, but can only stay 3 days, the third day will be at half price.

Of course improving our occupancy rate helps us on the financial side as well, which would put my banker in a much better mood.

We sure would like for you to spend your vacation with us, so call soon and reserve your favorite riding times of the year.

Jennifer and Wolfman, Riding Free...

Jennifer Louise Haight 7-29-69 ~ 9-24-2000

"Wolfman" Jack Tietjens 11-11-47 ~ 10-2-2000

We give thanks to God for having the opportunity to experience these two wonderful people. We feel blessed and recognize that our lives have been made better for having known them. In each their own way they have made their mark on this world and those their lives have touched will not forget them. Whether the acquaintance was long or short, we have learned a very important lesson about the choices of life: either don't become attached, or love them fast for all your worth! We, at Iron Horse Stables have weighed the options and have concluded that the fullness of life begins and ends with actual use of the wide-ranging emotions we are born with, prompted by the spirit, and expressed in faith, hope, and love . . . no matter what. Ride on and ride free. We love you.

Stable Hands

Tyler Sanders

Tyler is the Popman at Iron Horse Stables. He was kept busy this past summer keeping the machine stocked with ice cold sodas. His duties include selection and keeping track of the inventory, reordering when needed, and occasionally accompanying his mother (Janie) or other staff member to the store to help with the loading and unloading of the cases.

Tyler also empties the change box and rolls the coins up into wrappers. He's proud of this old pop machine at the Stables because it still only takes $.50 to quench your thirst.

In his spare time he's been known to go on motorcycle rides, make soap sculptures, and melt down leftover candle wax. But check next issue for the apprentice "popman" on the horizon (and she's a girl!)
